Butterscotch Iced Coffee

Iced coffee costs a fortune buying from the supermarket, but ahead of a hot day you can trivially make it with just a few (cheap) ingredients.

This recipe uses butterscotch flavour golden syrup to add flavour, but you can easily substitute that for other flavourings - using other golden syrup flavours, or flavoured coffee shots

Ingredients

  • 4 tsp instant coffee (preferably a good one with ground coffee in)
  • 300ml water
  • 1.5 tbsp caster sugar
  • 6 tsp butterscotch golden syrup
  • 400ml Milk

Method

  1. Put the water in the kettle and boil it
  2. Put the coffee granules into a heatproof jug
  3. Add the sugar
  4. When the kettle's boiled, pour the water into the jug
  5. Add the Golden syrup
  6. Stir well and then leave to sit for a few minutes
  7. Stir in the milk
  8. Put into the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours
  9. Will keep (covered) in the fridge for about 2 days
