McDonalds closed all of it's restaurants as part of the Coronavirus response. However, they've shared a recipe card with The Mirror so that we can make their Sausage and Egg McMuffin at home.
They've also shared a recipe for a Hash Brown so that we can have one of those on the side.
It's probably the simplest of their recipes that they could have shared, and does seem to taste pretty close to what you get in one of their branches (though, unsurprisingly, isn't nearly as convenient to make as it is to order). The only thing I really found is that it's hard to make the patty's as thin as they do, meaning you can't easily build a double sausage and egg mcmuffin
The recipe makes 1 - just multiply the measurements by the number you want to make

Ingredients
- English Muffin
- 75g Sausage Meat
- 1 Egg
- Burger cheese slice (i.e. plastic cheese)
- Salt
- Ground Pepper
- Round egg cooking rings/cookie cutter (used to mould the egg)
- Something to cover the ring (a side plate will do)
Method
- Pre-heat the grill on high
- Season the meat with a shake of some salt and pepper
- Press the sausagemeat into a ball and roll it around some to help push any trapped air out
- Put it on a plate and press it out into a patty shape
- Cook under the grill for 6 minutes on each side
- Brush some oil on the inside of your metal ring
- Place it in the bottom of a frying pan
- Pour some water into the bottom of the ring, just enough to cover the base (some will leak out, but don't worry)
- Heat until the water starts to boil
- Crack your egg into the ring
- Cover with a plate and cook for 3 minutes
- Cut the muffin in half and toast each side until lightly golden
- Assemble by putting the patty, then egg on top of the cheese
