Instead, you can cook them in the oven - perfect if you're making hotdogs as you can just oven-cook the sausages too

Method
- Preheat the oven to 180
- Chop the onions into small slices, about half a centimetre each
- Place into a bowl
- Pour a tablespoon of oil over them and then mix until all have an oily coating
- Spread them out on a baking tray
- Cook on the top shelf of the oven for 14 minutes - you're looking for the edges to start to brown or blacken
