A simple sauce to go with pasta, can be made using puree or tinned tomatotes (tinned is better).
If you want to add some spice you can mix in dried chilli flakes and/or chopped chilli, whereas if you want to turn it into more of a meatball sauce, you can mix in some grated mozzarella

Ingredients
- Tube tomato puree or tin of chopped tomatoes
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 small onion
- cooking oil
- salt
- pepper
Method
- Peel and chop the onion into little chunks
- Peel and chop the garlic cloves
- Heat the oil in a pan and start to cook the onions
- Add the garlic and cook it until it softens
- Stir in the herbs
- Add some salt and black pepper to your taste
- Add the sugar
- Add the tomato
- Stir together well
- Simmer the sauce for about 20 mins
- Mix into your meal without allowing to cool
