Waffle makers can be bought very cheaply and the same batter used for pancakes can be used to make waffles.
This recipe describes making and cooking it make waffles with an electric waffle iron, to make pancakes simply cook in a pan with a little bit of oil instead.
The measurements make 6 waffles.

Ingredients
- 150g self raising flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 10g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 egg
- 250ml milk
Method
- Put the sugar, baking powder and flour into a bowl and mix together
- Make a well in the middle and crack the egg into it
- Pour in the milk
- Add the vanilla essence
- Mix with an electric whisk until there are no lumps
- Allow to stand for 10 minutes
- Dollop into a hot waffle maker and then cook for 5 minutes
- Serve covered in syrup (or whatever suits)
