Brandy Butter

Obviously perfect with Christmas pudding, but goes really well with chocolate cake too!

Ingredients

  • 55g butter
  • 55g plain flour
  • 1 pint milk
  • 55g Caster sugar
  • 4 tbsp Brandy (any more than 6 and things go gloopy)

Method

  1. Melt the butter and stir in the flour
  2. Cook for 2 minutes before stirring in the milk
  3. Bring to the boil, stirring constantly, and simmer gently for 10 minutes
  4. Stir in the brandy and sugar
  5. Serve immediately
