Stir fried chicken and veg

Quick and easy to make, this chicken stir-fry gets a Chinese style kick from the five-spice

Can be served on it's own or with noodles

Cooking Time

Prep: 10 mins
Cooking: 8 mins
Total: 18 mins




  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 3 peppers (mixed colors)
  • 1 Onion (red or white)
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp Five Spice
  • Olive oil


  1. Cut the chicken into chunks
  2. Seed the peppers and cut into slices
  3. Peel the onion and chop into chunks
  4. Cut the tomatoes into 8ths
  5. Put the oil in a frying pan/wok over a high heat
  6. Sprinkle the five-spice over the oil and mix to form a paste
  7. Add the chicken into the pan and stir so it's covered in the paste
  8. Fry the chicken for 5 mins until it starts to cook (if you use your spatula to cut a thicker piece, you want it to be white all the way through)
  9. Add the veg
  10. Stir fry for another few mins until the onion has softened
  11. Serve
